Red clover is one of the fastest establishing legumes and can be grown on acidic soil. It can be seeded in early spring or in the fall, or frost seeded into a thinning stand in late winter when the ground is frozen and bare soil is exposed. Seeding rates are 6 – 8 lbs of red clover per acre when drilled or 12 – 15 lbs per acre when broadcast.
